About Boitshepo's work:
Photo Theme:
Faith
Photo Story:
I took a trip to Tzaneen in Limpopo and took a photo of a crumbling stone church building in the middle of a village, surrounded by giant mountains and sky. No crowds no noise just silence and history.

As I stood there with my camera, I felt something powerful. Not sadness but peace. Like the walls were still holding on to memories, like they were still listening. I framed the shot just as the sun was ready to set, leaving a great cast of shadows, broken doors, broken windows, and a open cross on the wall. That’s when I knew this is what I love doing. Not just taking pictures but finding stories that deserve to be seen and remembered. Now it stands empty and abandoned, but not without spirit.
How long has Boitshepo loved photography:
I’ve loved photography for as long as I can remember since I was a teenager taking photos of my family before and after church. From there on, my love for photography grew and expended ways to tell a stroy whether it's fashion, portrait, product, cinematic or documentary photography. I am fascinated by how one click could freeze time. At first, I simply enjoyed capturing what I saw. But as the years passed, I discovered that photography wasn’t just about what I saw it was about what I felt. That realization changed everything.
How they discovered their passion for photography:
I didn’t always think I’d fall in love with photography. At first, I was drawn to visuals through film those quiet cinematic moments where shadows say more than words, and every frame feels like a painting. Watching movies that used silence, contrast, and light so intentionally made me see the world differently. I began to notice framing, light direction, stillness the language of storytelling through visuals.

But it was black and white photography that truly unlocked something in me. When I started shooting in monochrome, I felt like I was peeling away the noise. Without the distraction of color, I could focus on emotion, on texture, on truth. Black and white forced me to see deeper. It taught me that every wrinkle, every crack in a wall, every beam of light had a voice of its own.

Over time, I realized I wasn’t just mimicking what I saw in films. I was creating my own frames, my own scenes, my own still films. And that photography isn’t just what I do it’s who I am.
