About Mothuba Paballo Thipe 's work:
Photo Theme:
A Pause for the One Who Never Rests
Photo Story:
Theme: Love, Sacrifice & Gratitude
This photograph shows my mother’s feet resting in a simple bucket of water. It may look ordinary, but to me it carries a lifetime of sacrifice.
My mother is a single parent raising four children. For years, this same bucket was used to bathe us, wash clothes and clean dishes before we could afford a bathtub or a sink. It represents a home built with very little, but filled with love, strength and determination.
Her feet have walked through exhaustion, stress and endless responsibilities. They have carried her to work, back home, and through every struggle so that her children could have a better life. On this day, I was preparing to massage her tired feet as a small way of giving back to the woman who has given us everything.
The water in the bucket represents healing, rest and gratitude. It is a quiet moment of care for someone who rarely gets to rest.
This photo is about honouring a mother’s journey and recognising the silent strength behind every step she has taken for us.
How long has Mothuba Paballo Thipe loved photography:
I have loved photography for as long as I can remember, since I was young and now I'm 19. I did not always see it as something serious at first, but I have always enjoyed capturing moments, emotions and things that matter to me. Over time, taking photos became a way for me to express myself and tell stories.
How they discovered their passion for photography:
I discovered my passion for photography from a very young age. When I had a phone that could take pictures, I started photographing anything that spoke to me like people I love, moments, nature, and small details that others might overlook. Over time, I realised that photography was not just about taking pictures, but about capturing feelings, memories and stories because I knew that a photo can hold a feeling, a memory and a story all at once. Photography became a way for me to show love, gratitude and emotions that are sometimes hard to say with words especially after the passing of my dad, I learned to admire and capture the little and big moments.

I'm always the one that would say I can't delete this pictures because of the little details that many overlook and think they don't matter but to me, it's the little things that matter and make something big.
