Between Green and Gold

I found this leaf resting quietly among many others on the Alphen Trail. What caught my eye was how it seemed to hold two seasons at once…traces of summer’s green still glowing through the warm gold and amber of autumn.

In that moment I was reminded that seasons do not change overnight. They unfold gently, almost quietly, until one day we realise the landscape has transformed.

This leaf became a small symbol of that in-between space, where one chapter fades and another begins. Because sometimes what falls away is exactly what makes new life possible.

How they discovered their passion for photography:

My passion for photography began with a simple habit of noticing the small details around me—how light changes throughout the day, how seasons quietly transform familiar landscapes, and how a single moment in nature can hold unexpected beauty.

Over time I realised that photography allows me to pause those fleeting moments and preserve them before they pass. It became more than just taking pictures; it became a way of observing the world more closely and appreciating the stories unfolding all around us.

I believe every photograph has a story to tell. Sometimes it is the story of a season changing, sometimes of stillness or resilience, and sometimes of beauty hidden in the ordinary. Through my lens I try to capture those quiet stories and invite others to slow down long enough to see them too.
