About Mosele Alinah Mosia's work:
Photo Theme:
This photograph is centered on everyday industrial objects specifically screws—transformed into a visually striking composition. The theme explores structure, repetition, and contrast, turning ordinary materials into something abstract and artistic.
Photo Story:
This image was inspired by the idea of seeing beauty in ordinary objects. Screws are usually associated with construction and functionality, but in this creative experiment, they are presented as a kind of “metal cityscape” or skyline. By arranging them upright at different heights and capturing their reflections on a glossy surface, the photo creates a sense of depth and symmetry.

The use of black-and-white tones enhances texture and contrast, drawing attention to the fine details of the threads and the reflections beneath them. The repetition of shapes creates rhythm, while the varying sizes suggest diversity within uniformity almost like individuals in a society. This experiment allowed me to explore abstract photography, where the subject is not immediately obvious, and the viewer is encouraged to interpret the image in their own way. It also reflects my interest in transforming simple objects into creative visual stories through composition, lighting, and perspective.
How long has Mosele Alinah Mosia loved photography:
I have loved photography for several years, that I even decided to enrol at VALL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY to pursue photograph,am currently doing my 3rd year in photography and looking forward to doing my advance next year and my passion has grown stronger over time. What started as a simple interest in taking pictures has developed into a deeper appreciation for visual storytelling and creativity. As I continued learning and experimenting with different styles—such as abstract photography, event coverage, and creative compositions,I became more invested in improving my skills and expressing ideas through images.Photography allows me to capture moments, emotions, and unique perspectives that others might overlook. Over time, it has become more than just a hobby; it is something I see as part of my future career, especially as I continue to develop my skills and build my portfolio.
How they discovered their passion for photography:
I discovered my passion for photography during my time when i was doing my Marketing Internship at Sedibeng TVET College in 2022,when I was first introduced to cameras and basic photography techniques, taking pictures of events, exhibitions and graduation ceremonies at that time I was simply learning how to use the equipment, but as I started experimenting with different angles, lighting, and subjects, I became more interested in the creative side of photography. What really drew me in was the ability to tell a story through an image. I realized that even simple or everyday objects could be transformed into something meaningful and visually interesting, depending on how they are captured. Through assignments and creative experiments, like working with abstract subjects, I began to see photography as a form of self-expression.Over time, practicing different styles such as event photography and abstract compositions helped me grow more confident and passionate. That’s when I knew photography was something I wanted to pursue further, both creatively and professionally.
