This photo captures a quiet moment where everything feels still, yet full of life. As the sun set and the sky turned warm with colour, two birds crossed the horizon—free, effortless, and untouchable. What stood out to me was the contrast between the calm ocean below and the movement above. It reminded me that even in still moments, there is always motion, growth, and freedom. For me, this image represents peace, perspective, and the beauty of fleeting moments that often go unnoticed

How long has Susanne Hugo loved photography:

I’ve been passionate about photography for six years. What started as curiosity quickly turned into a deep love for capturing moments, light, and emotion in a way that tells a story.

How they discovered their passion for photography:

I discovered my passion for photography on a hot summer afternoon when I visited my best friend after school. We spent most of the day in the pool, and at some point she remembered she had a camera. What started as a fun backyard photoshoot quickly turned into something more meaningful for me. Later that day, we visited her grandparents and showed them the photos I had taken. I still remember her grandfather telling me that I was a natural and had a good eye for photography. There was something about him believing in me that made me feel proud and excited to explore it further.
After that, I saved up for months and bought my first camera from an old friend when I was 14. Ever since then, I’ve been capturing everything I find beautiful. When I look at places, I don’t just see what’s there—I see the potential to turn it into something meaningful through a photograph.
