About Ntwanano Nxumalo's work:
Photo Theme:
Redemption
Photo Story:
I was onced tasked to photograph the young lady on the lefts farewell images, one day when it was time to edit I realised I had lost all the images that I had taken on the day, I had tried all methods of recovery but nothing worked, I was so devastated because of how well the family had treated me on the day and I couldn’t bare the fact that I had to tell them I had lost images from a special day, as you could imagine the parents were furious which they had every right to be, I eventually refunded them, to me that was the end of the world because I had even considered giving up photography because of the things that were happening in that week alone and I thought that was the end however things took a turn when the mother of the family gave me a task to capture their anniversary and to me this was everything, I made sure I paid for studio time with my own money and made sure that I took the financial hit to make this day happen for them, they brought their whole family to shoot which struck a lot of anxiousness because I didn’t know how they were feeling or what was about to happen , fast forward an hour into the shoot, the mother pulls me aside to thank me for everything and I told her that it was the lesser I could do after what had happened, she offered to even pay me for my time and I insisted that it was okay that there was no need and from that that’s when I saw that giving up wasn’t an option, I just had to learn on how to properly handle the situation and make sure that I finish what had started, everything went well and they are every happy with their family, and anniversary photos
