Mother of the bride

Photo Story:

This lady is the mother other the bride a mother of her community in limpopo we call her mamazala, this lady is my aunty, my uncles wife, she has 7 kids, my uncle her husband passed away in 2021/2, she built a small kitchen where she sells meals to the community where they call her mamazala because it's called mamazalas kitchen, she has faught to sustain feed and give her family something to carry them

After the loss of her husband she lost her oldest son a year or 2 after before this wedding we had only gone home for funerals

It was at this wedding I saw she had furnished the house but not fully looking better than the last time I was there, due to lack of money our cousin/sister hosted the wedding in our back yard and this picture was taken there

The picture is just as iconic as the famous Winnie Mandela picture

Showing a beautiful strong woman with a story in her eyes not grayed out but the color around her is the light she brings into the world and our light

How long has Thabo Nyarhi loved photography:

I have been shooting photography for 8-10 years without my own camera, this camera is a friend's camera who believes in me and my talent,self taught and volunteered at churches where I found my love for media and have been trying to make something of myself since

How they discovered their passion for photography:

My mother is a pastor and all my life I would serve in the entertainment and media departments of churches

It was in 2014 that I first held a camera to date I now serve in crc jhb where I am still holding a camera in volunteering and trying to build a media house that caters to events and entertainment in jhb
