About Simonne Van der Merwe's work:
Photo Theme:
Abandoned hobby
Photo Story:
Graveyard

Forgotten Notes pauses on a keyboard that has been left untouched for years, gradually collecting dust and showing signs of neglect. What once was an object of routine, practice and creative ambition now rests in silence. The dust and web covered keys are a record of time passing.

Although the photograph reflects absence and abandonment it also reveals an unexpected beauty within these sad details. This ordinary neglected object becomes a reflection on memory, change and the traces left behind by former passions.
How long has Simonne Van der Merwe loved photography:
I'm very new at photography but it's always been a interest of mine that I'm finally pursuing
I just graduated from orms cape town school of photography and I've learnt a lot
How they discovered their passion for photography:
Through out noticing the beauty of everyday things and objects unwanting to capture that moments forever
