This photo was taken at what was originally a corporate photoshoot.

My friend (the one in the picture) showed up dressed almost completely formally, with one distinct and ironic feature being the Hello Kitty necklace he wore around his neck.

He asked me to take a picture with his phone. I used my knowledge of lighting and composition, and what came out, was this funny but tuff masterpiece.

How long has Raymond Mnisi loved photography:

I’ve loved photography for around 10 months now

How they discovered their passion for photography:

I discovered my love for photography about 10 months ago, while I was watching some video by a YouTuber named YCImaging. Every shot in his video was cleaner than anything I had ever seen at the time, and I just had to understand how one could achieve such quality and visually-pleasing imagery.

That’s when I discovered my love for cinematography and videography. I spent the next 4 months just bingeing on videos about lighting and composition, and seeing if I could implement what I learned with just my phone.

I picked up photography along the way, since I saw it as just stills from videography, but I eventually started seeing it as freezing moments in time.

Since then, I’ve done a number of portrait shoots with some friends of mine, and even had some paying clients along the way, but now I’m working, trying to save up for my dream camera (a Sony A6700), so I can improve the quality of my work and get into videography professionally.

1. "The Master At Photos Contest" is a Competition fully sponsored by The Next Star Talent Hunt, a product of Balloon Technologies SA LTD. An Organization acting in compliance with International laws and the Laws of the Republic of South Africa.

2. It is an Online Talent Competition, which finds its operandi similar to other talent competitions like the America Got Talent show, The Big Brother Africa, MTN Project fame among others.

3. Registration to Participate in "The Master At Photos Contest" is Completely FREE. Note this.

4. Like in every other Contest, "The Master At Photos Contest" enshrines prizes for Its Winners.

1st Position: A Brand New Camera, A Premium Plaque and a Monetary award of R20,000 (Twenty Thousand Rand only)

2nd Position: A Monetary award of R4,000 (Four Thousand Rand only)

3rd position: A Monetary award of R2,000 (Two Thousand Rand only)

5. Winners of "The Master At Photos Contest" are selected by a Simple-Majority Voting system.

6. The Voting system entails a transparent form of anyone visiting a contestant voting link and then voting for them. 1 vote is R7 (Seven Rands only). And anyone can vote for a contestant as much times as possible.

7. Payment made as Vote on any Contestant (while in contest and afterwards) would not be refunded.

8. In the Policy of enjoining Transparency, Live updates on scores of each Contestant, are made Public and available on the Contest’s website via https://masteratphotos.co.za/contest - coupled with personalized mails and text messages forwarded to each contestant daily.

9. As by Law, Participation in "The Master At Photos Contest" is completely Voluntary and Contestant can discontinue at anytime, with the Caveat of Votes counted, being lost and not refunded.
