The idea was to show the wrinkles as the lines of time. Each wrinkle line, a year in the life of Gogo.

How long has Mbali Ngube loved photography:

Since I knew cameras exist. I have fond memories of my mom shouting at me one time for having done too much. I used to love asking for our guests phones, and always to see the camera. I would take pictures with their phones and say a line I still say now, “I left you a gift in your gallery”. It was always pictures of me. In all sorts of angles. And pictures of them, the memories shared. Many still remind me today, seeing how my career gravitated toward photography.

How they discovered their passion for photography:

Honestly, it’s only recently. 2023 to be specific .
I realised that I always took it lightly that I love creating memories. I also loved being the one to tell someone’s story. I don’t always have to write about it. I can bring your most emotive concept to life, just with my eye. So I used my phone to create a small profile on a campus soccer team I supported. Knowing the stories of each player and their backgrounds made me want to tell the story of their beginning. And so NdlovukaziiWithTwoEyes was born.
