About Ridwaan Chopdat 's work:
Photo Theme:
The Royal Procession
Photo Story:
A male lion closely follows a lioness during a period of courtship. When a lioness is receptive, a male may remain with her for days, following her closely and repeatedly mating during this period. What interested me about this sighting was the behaviour rather than simply photographing two lions. The lioness is walking ahead while the male follows closely behind, every time the female moves, the male follows.

To me, the photograph captures the reality of the African bush, sometimes the most interesting sightings aren’t dramatic hunts or roaring males, but ordinary moments of behaviour that reveal how these animals live.

Two lions, one following the other, and a brief glimpse into the private life of one of Africa’s most iconic predators.
How long has Ridwaan Chopdat loved photography:
10 years
How they discovered their passion for photography:
Ever since I was a child I always loved photography, regular family kruger trips and being gifted my first camera really got me into wildlife photography.
